Let’s call it recap Chapter 1

After leaving Idaho we went to the Grand Teton mountains. We took a side trip to Jackson, Wy. It is a touristy place but  quaint. That is elk park. The entrance made of discarded Elk horns. notice the tourist info house, buried in snow in May. I’ll bet the attendant was COLD!

We traveled over the Teton Pass from Idaho to Jackson

I’ll continue to catch-up as we go along.  Chapter 2 will be along soon

These are a few pictures of Buffalo Jump State Park. The Indians would run a heard of buffalo over the cliff and kill them for their winter food for the tribe.

We met Glen and Barb and stayed at Malstrom AFB in Great Falls MT for a week or so. Then off to Canada.

Lethbridge,Alberta next stop. We all enjoyed a few hours at the Birds of Prey SanctuaryIMG_0123 IMG_0100 IMG_0105 IMG_0107 IMG_0109 IMG_0112 IMG_0113 IMG_0121 .

From Lethbridge, AB to Banff National Park and Lake Louise. Banff had Elk and Mule deer walking around our site. Lake Louise was half frozen but beautiful. What looks like a pile of rocks is', but they are the remains of  glacial work.

As you can tell from the last post we have put some miles on. I have 21 days worth of pictures which I need to post. Don't worry, you won't have to wallow through all of them.
I need to apologize for all the time we weren't online but due to computer problems (had to buy a new one) no wifi or phone signal for my air card, there was no way to work on the blog.
I will try to improve.
We are in the North Pole, Alaska. We have been here for the past week. A 400 mile round trip to the Arctic Circle was quite a day. '
Anyone who watches a tv show called "Ice Road Truckers" will find it interesting to note that our road to the Arctic Circle is the same one that they travel.
The days are at least 22 hours long. It feels funny to be in daylight at 11:30 at night, wake up at 3:00 am to see the sun still shining.
Now for the real question you must have, HOW COLD is it there?? Well, the temperature has ranged from 62 today to 78 2 days ago. It was about 70 the day we went to the circle.
We have seen many, many wildlife like grizzlies,a wolf, moose and their cubs, wild horses, mountain goats and more.
In a couple of days we plan to head for Denali N.P.

As you can see, the top pictures are around the North Pole. The bottom are on the way to the Arctic Circle. There is the Yukon River,  a pit stop in the town of Joy,AK. Yes, that is the whole town. Diane is returning from her luxurious seating provided by the town father. A coool picnic lunch was provided by the ladies. Who would believe that mosquitoes could fly in 20 mph winds??
